What is Educational Opportunity Centers?

Educational Opportunity Centers, Inc. is an agency funded by the Department of Education. We have five offices in eastern PA staffed with Educational Planners to help you with your education goals. All of our services are FREE!

Our agency provides services to adults through our EOC program and to adolescents through our Talent Search/S.P.A.R.C. program.

Our Educational Planners are available to assist you with career planning, returning to school, researching your career opportunities, advising you on how to get your GED, as well as supporting you every step of the way in achieving your goals. An important objective of our program is to counsel participants on financial aid options and to assist in the application process. Our top goal is to make sure you get the education you need for the job you want.

  • Adults 19 years and older (but we do provide services for those under 19)
  • Low Income and First Generation College Students

  • Dislocated workers
  • Underemployed
  • Unemployed
  • Minorities

Obtaining Our Services

If you cannot make it to one of our five offices, we will meet with you at one of our outreach sites or counsel you over the Internet.

All you have to do to obtain our FREE services is call one of our offices or go to REGISTER NOW on this web site. You’ll obtain a member name that allows you to log in to the Member Area of our site.

What is Talent Search?

Talent Search complements the EOC program by helping to prepare adolescents for post secondary education. Our program operates through the guidance department of junior high and high schools and is also known as S.P.A.R.C. which stands for Selecting, Planning, And Researching Careers. Our main goal is to ensure that students graduate from high school and enroll in a post-secondary school.

What Free Services Can Talent Search Provide?

Our Educational Planners provide the following workshops to students to prepare them for higher education:

We also provide Tutoring services and Career Speakers when possible and PARENT WORKSHOPS! Our most popular parent workshop is on financial aid and PA's Tuition Account Program (TAP).

  • Low Income Students
  • First Generation to go to College
  • Minorities

Obtaining Our Services

Although we work through Guidance Offices at schools, we can provide services on an individual basis or via the Internet. Contact your school’s Guidance Office to see if there are any TRIO programs such as Talent Search/S.P.A.R.C. offered at your school, check with the nearest Educational Planner listed on this site, or become a Member on our site to obtain services.
