College Application Tips

Take your time when putting together your college application-remember quality takes time!

The essay is an important part of the application, as it provides the admissions officers with information about who you really are. The rest of the application is just basic information that does not reveal who you are as a person.  Have a trusted friend or teacher review your essay. There is no room for grammar mistakes, do not rely solely on Grammar and Spell check. Essay Tips

There are two primary admission types:

Rolling admission:  this means that there is no closing date for accepting applications. The schools accept students as they apply until the school or program is filled. Keep in mind that rolling admissions also accepts the first applicants that qualify for the school or program, not necessarily the best applicants.

Regular Admission:  the school waits to make any decisions until all the applications are in. Your application is competing against the best, not the first. Due dates are very important for applications. Don't even bother sending them in late unless you have a very good reason.
